If you hold a Virginia driverŐs license, the Virginia DMV REQUIRES that your final exam be taken in-person at an approved testing site. These sites charge a nominal fee of $6-$8 to verify your identity and give you access to the online final exam.
**OUT-OF-STATE residents are NOT required to take their final exams in person.
Most students have no trouble passing the final exam the very first time. In the event that you do not, you may take the final exam over as many times as necessary, however, the Virginia DMV only allows you to take the exam ONCE per calendar day. You must pay the testing location for every final exam attempt.
